In Pärnu, EKRE, Keskerakond and Isamaa proposed that mayor Kristel Voltenberg resign.
The extraordinary city council meeting discussed only one item. A vote of no confidence was submitted against Voltenberg.
The leaders of the three parties said the current coalition is no longer working. Kristel Voltenberg was the first to leave the coalition.
Pärnu City Council chairman Andrei Korobeinik said a new coalition could begin work after the next meeting. Then the election of a new city government will also take place.
Voltenberg said she has no complaints about the city council's work. She is just doing her job.
The convening of the council was correct, but its agenda had only one item. This raised questions.
Korobeinik said he received requests from members to convene the meeting. He sees nothing wrong with that.
Voltenberg added that she doesn't understand why she should resign. She hasn't done anything wrong.
The vote of no confidence against the mayor of Pärnu will take place on August 17.
