Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur said that as a minister, it was very logical for him to know about aid to Ukraine.
He said that RKIK was responsible for organizing the aid. RKIK was responsible for checking proposals and signing contracts.
Pevkur added that the investigation should clarify what is happening in the food supply deals. He said that hopefully we will have clarity in some time.
Pevkur specified that the last two deals were not the result of his personal initiative. He said that RKIK handled these deals.
He also talked about the company Nordeto. Nordeto sent proposals to the minister and the chancellor, but no contract was signed. Contracts were instead signed with the company Datasel.
Pevkur said that Datasel's actions are regrettable. He hopes that the company will resolve the dispute through negotiations.
The Defense Minister said that Estonia has helped Ukraine a lot. He hopes that everyone understands how important it is to provide aid to Ukraine.
The former head of RKIK, Magnus-Valdemar Saar, said that Pevkur was active in the food supply deals. He interfered in contracts and accelerated payments.
