The Health Insurance Fund announced that they are terminating the contract for the development of a new e-ambulance information system. They lost money because of this, but they will get most of it back.
So far, 1.1 million euros have been paid. The Health Insurance Fund will get back about 750,000 euros. Thus, 350,000 euros will be written off.
The decision to terminate the contract was made after discussions. The parties decided that continuing the project would not yield good results. Now, the Health Insurance Fund is looking for a new development partner.
This decision does not affect the work of the ambulance. The ambulance continues to use the existing digital solution. However, the old solution is becoming outdated. The new solution was supposed to bring better functionality to the ambulance.
The new solution was supposed to be ready by February 2025. However, it was not completed. The developer offered an alternative for the summer of 2026. However, the Health Insurance Fund found that this would increase costs and not meet the needs of the ambulance.
