Tallinn Bus Station is the only building in Tallinn constructed in the 1960s. The building still functions the same way. Only Kaubamaja Tallinn is a similar building.
The bus station was completed before the 16th Song Festival. In 1999, the company Mootor Grupp purchased the bus station. The bus station is important for Tallinn.
"The bus station is an important symbol of mobility in Estonia," said Hugo Osula, the head of Mootor Grupp. "We are proud of the bus station. We have good service and a good location."
Madle Lippus, the Deputy Mayor of Tallinn, said that the bus station is looking at new plans. She does not know if the building will remain.
"Bus traffic is important. It will grow in the near future. We are discussing new plans from autumn," said Lippus. She cannot say if the building will be preserved.
