Eesti 200 surpassed the electoral threshold in Tartu, but did not perform well elsewhere in Estonia. On Monday, they discussed the election results together.
Kristina Kallas said that the team's mood was positive. Although the threshold was not exceeded in Tallinn, Tartu performed better. Kallas disagrees that the result was very bad. She stated that 1.2% was predicted in Tallinn, but they got more. In Tartu, they were predicted to fall below the threshold, but they exceeded it. They are possible coalition partners there.
Kallas confirmed that she does not intend to step down. She said there is no reason to do so. She emphasized that the party must now analyze the results and learn how to move forward.
Kallas said that next, it is necessary to talk with the party members. She stated that the elections showed that the party is strong and there is no disintegration. Although the desired result was not achieved in Tallinn, people were active.
Journalist Indrek Kiisler asked why Eesti 200 members should remain in the party until the next elections. Kallas replied that the party is not a politicians' party and no one has wanted to join others. She said the faction is not disintegrating.
Kallas said that in politics, there is always an opportunity to either grow or disappear. Now is the time for growth. She emphasized that in the current geopolitical situation, it is important to maintain a stable government coalition.
