On March 30, 2026, NGO Slava Ukraini filed a lawsuit with the Ukrainian court. They are seeking compensation for financial and reputational damages. In total, they are claiming approximately 750,000 euros.
NGO Slava Ukraini wants to compensate for property damage. The damage amounts to 18,007,500 Ukrainian hryvnias (approximately 356,548 euros). They also seek to compensate reputational damage of 20,000,000 Ukrainian hryvnias (approximately 400,000 euros). This was announced by the NGO's liquidator Ilmar Raag on social media.
The Estonian and Ukrainian police investigated the use of donations by NGO Slava Ukraini between 2023-2025. As a result, Johanna-Maria Lehtme is accused in Estonia. In Ukraine, Hennadi Vaskiv and the company IC Construction are accused.
The court in Ukraine is considering the case in Lviv. NGO Slava Ukraini thanks the Ukrainian prosecutor's office. The prosecutor's office was helpful with the NGO's lawsuit. The accusation includes several episodes, but mainly donations were misused. The money did not go to projects but to the profit of a business entity.
Raag stated that Johanna-Maria Lehtme and Hennadi Vaskiv were aware of the misuse of funds. They should be held accountable for the misuse of money.
NGO Slava Ukraini is represented by law firms Glimstedt Estonia and Ilyashev & Partners. If the court decides to support the NGO, the money will go to the donation account of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
NGO Slava Ukraini announced that Vaskiv is not in Ukraine. He is internationally wanted. The NGO also has no information about Lehtme's whereabouts. Additional information should become clear in the coming months before the next court hearing in Estonia.
NGO Slava Ukraini already announced in December that they plan to file a lawsuit against Lehtme for damages.
