Järva County Hospital Employees Filed a Complaint Against the Chief Physician
Paarkümmend Järvamaa haigla töötajat esitasid kaebuse peaarst Külvar Mandi kohta. Kaebused on tõsised ja terviseamet kaalub menetluse alustamist.
About twenty employees of Järva County Hospital have filed a complaint against chief physician Külvar Mand. The complaints are serious, and the Health Board is considering initiating proceedings.
Järva County Hospital employees Agnes Gröön, Marge Peterson, and Külli Viirpuu spoke publicly about the hospital's problems. They said the situation at the hospital had worsened due to chief physician Külvar Mand.
Külli Viirpuu said that at first, everyone hoped everything would go well. But over time, it turned out that Mand was cruel and vindictive. Tiiu Aule called Mand a dictator.
Külvar Mand said he has no enemies in the hospital. He believes some people are trying to create a bad image of the hospital. Mand is a well-known medical professional who saved many lives during the 2001 methanol tragedy.
Järva County Hospital has many problems. Some positions are unfilled, and the hospital is running at a significant loss. Mand tried to find ways not to pay employees for overtime, which caused a lot of resentment.
Külli Viirpuu said people do not want to work if they are not paid enough. This could lead to surgeries and medical appointments being canceled.
The complainants said medical students who are not yet qualified doctors are working at the hospital. This is dangerous for patients. The Health Board confirmed that students are not allowed to work independently.
Külvar Mand said he monitors the work of students and provides them with guidance. He believes technology helps him stay connected with patients even remotely.
The complainants have also turned to the Health Board and the Data Protection Inspectorate. The Health Board takes the complaints seriously and is considering further steps.
