Tallinn Commissions Articles from the BBC to Introduce the Sustainable Capital
Tallinn tellis BBC-lt artikleid, et tutvustada linna kui jätkusuutliku pealinna. See on võimalus meelitada Tallinnasse uusi ettevõtteid, investeeringuid ja töötajaid.
Tallinn commissioned articles from the BBC to introduce the city as a sustainable capital. This is an opportunity to attract new companies, investments, and employees to Tallinn.
Tallinn commissioned articles from BBC Storyworks to introduce the city as a sustainable capital. The city hopes this will help attract companies interested in innovation, investments, and skilled workers to Tallinn.
Krista Kampus, who heads Tallinn's EU and External Cooperation Department, says the offer reached Tallinn through C40, a global network of cities. C40 suggested Tallinn to the BBC as a good example. C40 includes 96 cities worldwide. The network works in many areas, such as innovation, digitalization, and urban space, to help cities become greener.
BBC Storyworks has previously done projects introducing sustainable cities. Tallinn was interested in this because, as a small city, it is difficult to reach 450 million people on its own. The project cost is 58,000 euros. The BBC will introduce the city over six months on its channels, such as websites and social media.
Tallinn has never collaborated with such a large platform before. The campaign starts in June and lasts six months. The BBC will show campaign materials on its channels. After Midsummer's Day, Tallinn can use the materials itself. Kampus says the campaign cost is small compared to how many people will see it.
The campaign is aimed at other cities, organizations working with innovation and green technology, and global companies. Tallinn wants to present itself as an innovative city where new solutions are born. This will help the city attract skilled workers and new companies.
The BBC was interested in how Tallinn uses new solutions to support the green transition in cities. Tallinn also wants to tell its residents what is being said about the city abroad.
