In Otepää Municipality, Isamaa and Reform Party formed a coalition agreement. Jorma Riivald from Isamaa will remain as mayor. Siim Kalda from Reform Party will become the council chairman.
The main goals in the coalition agreement are education and the well-being of residents. Plans include building a new kindergarten, improving the education network, and creating better connections with Tartu.
Mayor Jorma Riivald stated that the new kindergarten is very important. It will help create a comfortable education campus in Otepää. The campus includes a kindergarten, music school, high school, sports facility, and student dormitory. Attention will also be paid to social welfare and sports.
The opposition is the electoral union Meie kogukond. Their representative Rein Pullerits said that their plans and those of Isamaa are similar. Pullerits stated that they will monitor the work of the new coalition. He believes that everyone needs to work together to improve life in Otepää.
