Russia organized a large Victory Day concert on the banks of the Narva River. It was already the third year in a row. The concert started in the evening to attract more people. War-themed songs were sung, and speeches were given. There were a lot of people on the river promenade.
A Narva resident, Svetlana, said: 'For me, Victory Day is more important than Europe Day. If it weren't for the boys who died in the war, we probably wouldn't exist.' A poster of Putin and Hitler was on the wall of Narva Castle.
A few hundred meters away from Victory Day, Europe Day was celebrated. The mood in front of the town hall was more cheerful. People came from different parts of Europe.
A Narva resident, Zlata, said: 'For me, the Europe Day concert is closer to my heart. I was born in Estonia and have lived here all my life.'
Marina, who came from Gothenburg, said: 'For me, May 9th is Europe Day. I am happy that the borders are open, and we can travel, study, and work in Europe.'
Both concerts took place at the same time. Quick people managed to attend both the promenade and the town hall concert.
