Latvia will install a speed camera on the Tallinn road (A1). The camera is located between Vitrube and Svētciems (74.6-81.1 km). There is also a camera on the Liepāja road (A9) (9.9-23.1 km and 80.0–93.6 km).
The camera monitors speed. The camera also checks vehicle insurance and tax. Latvia will install 17 new speed cameras on the country's roads. 14 cameras will be installed in March and May.
The camera will be placed on the Vidzeme road (A2) (72.25–77.15 km). There is also a camera on the Valmiera road (A3) (40.1–55.6 km). A camera is on the Daugavpils road (A6) (66.1–77.0 km). There is a camera on the Liepāja road (A9) (39.1–56.7 km). A camera is on the Ventspils road (A10) (63.4–68.0 km).
There is also a camera on the Riga bypass (A4 and A5). A camera is on the Tīnūži–Koknese road (P80) (0.5–1.8 km and 40.9–60.1 km).
The company SIA Reck will install the cameras. The cost is 1.99 million euros. The cameras will be maintained for five years.
Currently, there are 16 speed cameras on the country's roads.
