Until now, doctor visits were free for registered youth in Tartu. Now they have to pay 5 euros. This change comes from the budget amendment of the city of Tartu.
Visits for children under two years old remain free. The city government adopted the change with an earlier decision.
Martin Bek from the Tartu city government said that the city wants to be needs-based. He mentioned that covering visit fees is not equal for everyone. The new city government does not plan to reverse the change.
The clinic's services will remain the same. In case of unexpected problems, one can go to different departments. These include, for example, the pediatric clinic, women's clinic, and eye clinic.
Emergency care is intended for people with unexpected and serious health problems. It may be life-threatening or potentially life-threatening.
