EISA (Enterprise and Innovation Foundation) has updated Estonia's brand. The brand system was modified to be more modern and easier to use. Changed the Aino typeface, national patterns and colors.
In 2017, EISA introduced the first Estonian brand. At that time, national patterns were used, which people started calling the "hedgehog". This design didn't last long, but the Estonian brand has been in use until today. Now it has been updated.
EISA brand team leader Eliis Randver said the changes were necessary because the world has changed. The new design fits better with modern applications. Changed the typography, colors, symbols and animations. In addition, new guidelines were created on how to use the brand.
EISA itself uses this brand the most. They are engaged in promoting Estonia worldwide. The brand is also used by many other organizations - about a hundred companies.
Creating Estonia's brand has always been challenging. In 2002, the "Welcome to Estonia" campaign was launched. It caused much controversy because it was expensive and not everyone liked the design.
