Norstat conducts a monthly survey to find out who people would prefer as prime minister. According to the latest results, 26% of people prefer Urmas Reinsalu and 25% prefer Mihhail Kõlvart. Martin Helme is the third most popular candidate (16%).
Support for other candidates is lower: Kristen Michal (11%), Lavly Perling (9%), Lauri Läänemets (8%), and Kristina Kallas (5%). Compared to the previous month, Martin Helme's support has increased, while Lavly Perling's support has decreased.
Among party supporters, there are different preferences: EKRE supporters most often choose Martin Helme (84%), Keskerakond supporters choose Mihhail Kõlvart (78%), Parempoolsed choose Lavly Perling (75%), Isamaa supporters choose Urmas Reinsalu (73%), Reformierakond supporters choose Kristen Michal (63%), and SDE supporters choose Lauri Läänemets (50%).
The survey also asked how people would choose if the prime minister could only be one of two candidates. If the choice were between Reinsalu and Kõlvart, 50% would choose Reinsalu and 31% Kõlvart. If the choice were between Reinsalu and Michal, 52% would choose Reinsalu and 21% Michal. If the choice were between Kõlvart and Michal, 47% would choose Kõlvart and 30% Michal.
The survey was conducted from February 16 to 21, with thousands of Estonian citizens participating. The results exclude "Don't know" responses.
