BLRT Group is building a new factory in Kohila. The factory's name is BLRT Foundry.
The factory costs 14 million euros. It will start operating at the end of next summer. The factory will employ 70 people.
The factory will produce cast iron products. The weight of one product can be up to three tons.
The factory is coming to Kohila because it is near Tallinn. Kohila municipality supports the project.
In recent years, the foundry industry has declined. Now there is a great demand for manufactured products. These products are necessary in the machinery industry.
The factory will produce housings, gearboxes, and engine parts.
The head of BLRT Group said they want to hire employees from Kohila municipality. They also wish for their current employees to move to the new factory.
The factory manager said the production volume will be three times greater than currently.
