A new train runs from Tallinn to Riga. It goes through Tartu. Sometimes, many people use it.
Half of the passengers travel between Tartu and Riga. Many also go to Vilnius. More trains will operate on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
Trains will also return with changes. More statistics will be available for Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.
Soon, work will begin on the Tartu-Valga railway. Trains can reach speeds of up to 160 km/h there. The main work is planned for 2025-2026.
Test runs have been successful, but the start date is still unknown. Many passengers travel to Vilnius.
Lux Express buses now have fewer passengers. They will cancel some trips starting in autumn.
Lux Express serves 20,000 passengers weekly on two routes. During peak times, this number reaches 25,000. Annually, about 850,000 people use these routes. The Tallinn-Riga route sees 170,000–180,000 passengers yearly.
Lux Express believes ticket sales should fund operations. They have not changed their prices.
