The city of Pärnu is considering making the city center bridge a movable one during its reconstruction. The city expects the company to provide solutions for both movable and non-movable bridges.
The city government wishes the new bridge to resemble the former four-arched Suursild. Currently, the bridge is in poor condition and needs reconstruction.
The design work will take about half a year. They will cost nearly 243,000 euros. The work should be completed by the autumn of 2028.
Deputy Mayor of Pärnu Robert Kiviselg said that the Slovak documentation met the requirements. Now, the completion of two preliminary projects is awaited.
"One project is for a non-movable bridge, and the other is for a movable bridge. In both cases, an approximate cost will also be added. In about half a year, we will make a decision on how to proceed," said Kiviselg.
