Minister of Defense Hanno Pevkur told ERR that US weapons deliveries will arrive in Estonia in the coming weeks. An exception are ATACMS missiles, which are currently not available.
In July, Pevkur said that there is an agreement with the US on continuing arms deliveries. Most weapons are ready for transport, but ATACMS missiles are an exception. Initially, it was thought that deliveries would take months, but now they will arrive within weeks.
"Deliveries are moving forward and will arrive in weeks, not months. For security reasons, we won't specify exact dates," said Pevkur. ATACMS missiles are still pending as there has been no change in the situation with Iran.
Pevkur also noted that US-prepared deliveries include, for example, HIMARS training ammunition and GMLRS systems. Estonia prefers air transport for ammunition, but sea transport is also possible.
The Estonian Defense Forces have six HIMARS multiple rocket launchers. In April, a contract was signed to purchase three new HIMARS launchers. They will arrive in Estonia in 2027.
