On Monday evening, the Centre Party faction of Tallinn City Council gathered. They decided to start negotiations with Isamaa. Their goal is to form a new coalition.
The chairman of the Centre Party, Mihhail Kõlvart, said they want to meet with Isamaa. Isamaa also wants changes both in Tallinn and in the country. Together, they want to implement policy without the Reform Party.
Kõlvart stated that the coalition of four parties brought disorder to Tallinn. The people of Tallinn do not deserve such a situation. The Centre Party has previously ensured stable and professional city governance. They want to find a coalition partner who shares the same values.
Kõlvart also mentioned that the Centre Party is ready to discuss with other parties who made it to the council. They want to talk about issues related to city life.
The head of Isamaa's Tallinn region, Riina Solman, said their board will discuss further steps on Thursday.
The Social Democrats have proposed to Isamaa to form a coalition of four parties. This would include both the Reform Party and the Conservative People's Party. Both are willing to start negotiations.
