Latvia wants to build Rail Baltica. They will use 260 million euros in 2026. The railway must connect Estonia and Lithuania.
Estonia is using 500 million euros this year. Construction is advanced in Estonia. Not so much in Latvia.
If everyone does good work, the railway will be ready by 2030.
The money comes from the European Union. Baltic countries get 85% of the money. Countries pay 15% themselves.
Latvia may use private sector help. They do this for roads as well.
Latvia must connect the railway with Estonia and Lithuania. This is written in the laws.
Rail Baltica is important. Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania are working together.
Estonia is using 494 million euros this year. In 2027, 686 million euros will be used.
The first part of the railway will be completed in 2030.
