In 2024, a group in Estonia looked for a company to make bullets in Ämari. Three companies wanted the job: Nitrotol, ESTDEFIN, and Estonian Ammunition Plant.
Nitrotol won. They got a big space in Ämari to build a temporary factory.
Estonian Ammunition Plant did not agree. They said Nitrotol made mines, not bullets. They went to court to stop the factory.
This week, the court said no. They said Nitrotol had a better plan. Nitrotol started making explosives in December. They tested products 10 years ago. Since 2019, they made military explosives.
Before, Estonia’s laws did not allow making explosives here. Nitrotol plans to expand its work to a new area.
