Over 2,400 students study at the Ida-Viru Vocational Education Center. In addition, the center offers further education courses for adults. Over 230 students study at Kohtla-Järve Gymnasium.
Hendrik Agur said he wants to make the vocational education center's teaching in Estonian starting from September 1, 2026. He believes that the Kohtla-Järve and Jõhvi gymnasiums should be merged.
Agur emphasized that all students at the vocational education center must learn Estonian in a modern way. He hopes that the school will become an innovative learning center that supports both Ida-Viru County and all of Estonia.
