The Nordic Investment Bank (NIB) has extended André Küüsvek's contract. He will remain president of the bank for another four years. His new contract is valid until August 2029.
Küüsvek has been the bank's president since April 2021. The NIB Board of Directors approved the extension of his contract. The Board highly values Küüsvek's work.
NIB Board Chair Merle Wilkinson said that Küüsvek has helped the bank grow. This is particularly important now, during challenging times globally. Wilkinson emphasized that they are happy to continue working with Küüsvek.
Küüsvek said he is proud to continue leading NIB. The bank will soon celebrate its 50th anniversary. Küüsvek wants to help the bank develop further. He promised to do everything to ensure the bank remains successful in the future.
NIB is an international bank. Its owners are Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, and Sweden. The bank finances projects that benefit the Nordic and Baltic countries. NIB's headquarters are in Helsinki, but it also has a center in Riga.
NIB has an excellent credit rating. S&P and Moody's have given the bank the highest rating of AAA/aaa.
Before joining NIB, Küüsvek worked at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). He has over 25 years of experience in finance. Previously, he has also worked at banks in Estonia and Germany.
