Kalle Laanet has previously been critical of the prosecutor's office. The prosecutor's office accused him of submitting false invoices. Laanet says this is the prosecutor's office's retaliation for his questions.
In addition, another Isamaa MP is under investigation. This is related to prohibited donations. The prosecutor's office must decide whether to bring charges or not.
The inquiry also came after the Tõnis Mölder case. The Riigikogu did not revoke Mölder's parliamentary immunity. In response, one MP said that the Riigikogu does not trust the prosecutor's office.
