On Tuesday afternoon, information came from the Latvian Defense Forces. Estonian radar detected a drone in southern Estonia. A Baltic air policing fighter jet shot down the drone. This happened over Lake Võrtsjärv.
Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur said that drone debris may have fallen on land. There are no reports of civilian casualties. The Defense Forces issued an air threat alert. People in Tallinn also became aware of it.
The drone threat affected the areas of Tartu, Jõgeva, Viljandi, Valga, Võru and Põlva. At 12:45, the Defense Forces announced that the air threat was over. The last time the Defense Forces issued a threat alert was on May 3.
In Russia, drone attacks hit the St. Petersburg region. Pskov and Pulkovo airports were temporarily closed. Russian air defense shot down two drones.
