Eesti 200 lahkus Viimsi Reformierakonnast
Eesti 200 Left the Viimsi Reform Party
Eesti 200 otsustas Viimsis Reformierakonnast lahkuda ja hakkas neid umbusaldama. Sellele otsusele andis heakskiidu ka Eesti 200 juht Kristina Kallas.
Eesti 200 decided to leave the Reform Party in Viimsi and began to distrust them. This decision was also approved by the leader of Eesti 200, Kristina Kallas.
At the Viimsi council meeting on March 18, Isamaa representative Jan Trei submitted a motion of no confidence against mayor Illar Lemett and deputy mayor Alar Miku. Both are from the Reform Party. The motion was signed by 10 council members, including three members of Eesti 200.
Atso Matsalu, the leader of Eesti 200 in Viimsi, said that this decision is the decision of the Viimsi region and the faction. He added that Eesti 200 leader Kristina Kallas agreed with their explanations.
Matsalu has previously said that there is no functioning coalition in Viimsi. He believes that the partners of the Reform Party are hostages to the personal ambitions of Alar Miku and Illar Lemett.
According to Matsalu, the motion of no confidence would have been submitted anyway. The question was whether Eesti 200 would join it. He said that the problems have piled up and the Reform Party was not willing to make changes.
The motion of no confidence was signed by Eesti 200, EKRE, Isamaa, and the Viimsi Communities representatives, as well as the independent council member Kristel Potsepp. In total, there are 21 seats in the Viimsi council, so one more vote is needed. Matsalu believes that this vote will be obtained.
If an extraordinary meeting is not called, the vote on the motion of no confidence will take place on April 8. The Reform Party has six council members in Viimsi, while Eesti 200 has three.
