Tallinn city council voted on Monday. They want to change the Russian Culture Center and Salme Culture Center.
Both centers will join other city places.
40 council members voted yes. 33 voted no.
Members from Keskerakond and EKRE voted no.
Igor Gräzin from Reformierakond stayed neutral. Jaak Juske from Sotsid did not vote.
The Russian Culture Center's space and things will go to Tallinn Cultural Hub.
Activities will continue at Mere pst 5 building. Tallinn Culture and Sports Department will manage it.
Salme Center building on Kopli tn 93 will be rented to North Tallinn Government.
The goal is to make the centers more modern.
One management will bring better culture programs and use of space.
There will be more cooperation with communities and minorities.
The city can give more resources to culture.
The decision was made in June.
Reformierakond members first doubted but finally voted yes.
In the future, the Russian Culture Center will be called Mere Culture Center.
