Raimond Kaljulaid is a member of the Social Democratic Party (SDE). He announced that he will not run in local elections. He works in the Riigikogu. His work is related to security, foreign policy, and national defense.
Kaljulaid says he has two homes. One is in Tallinn and the other is in Hiiumaa. He chose Hiiumaa because he wants his income tax to go to Hiiumaa. He says his income in Estonia is quite high.
Local elections will take place on October 19. SDE is participating in elections in a few municipalities. Mostly, they do so in electoral alliances.
Kaljulaid ran in the 2023 Riigikogu elections. He received 1817 votes and was elected to the Riigikogu. In 2021, he was the SDE mayoral candidate in Tallinn. He received 1579 votes in North Tallinn.
Kaljulaid has been a member of SDE since 2019. Before that, he belonged to the Center Party.
