The Government Office announced that it is seeking a new National Archivist. The current head has been in office for 25 years.
The main tasks of the National Archives are to update the archive system and make it more user-friendly. It is also important to increase community collaboration and offer more activities to the public.
The new National Archivist must have a master's degree or equivalent education. They must have at least five years of experience managing a large organization. They must also be proficient in English at a high level.
A candidate who has already managed the archival industry is preferred. They should also have experience as a top executive.
The term of the National Archivist is five years. Applications are open until September 10.
The current National Archivist, Priit Pirsko, has been in office since 2000. He has been confirmed in office five times.
