Construction works begin at Hipodroomi intersection in Tallinn. They will last from April 27th to 29th. Traffic will remain open but may be slower.
The works will be carried out on Paldiski maantee from Merelahe tee to Mooni street. They will end in August 2027. The works start in spring so the road leaving the city can be completed before winter.
The goal of the project is to make the intersection safer and more modern. New bicycle paths, green islands, and lighting will be built. A new crossing for pedestrians and cyclists will also be created.
The Paldiski maantee alley will remain. From Hipodroomi street, there will be a new left turn towards the city center. AS Tallinna Vesi and AS Utilitas Tallinna Soojus will also carry out their works.
Public transport lines will not change until June 1st. Updated route plans can be viewed on the website transport.tallinn.ee.
The city recommends that commuters account for longer travel times. If possible, use alternative routes. From Keila, Tabasalu, and Kakumäe directions, Ehitajate tee is recommended.
