If the three Baltic states build a drone wall, it should be uniform for them. This means that the physical and electronic protection are the same. Siim Sukles spoke about this in "First Studio".
Currently, there is talk about both the Baltic and European drone walls. The European wall should stretch from Finland to the Black Sea. Sukles said that work is being done, but it is expensive. It's like building a sauna – you agree and get it done.
In the Baltics, drone defense should be done in cooperation. Each country should not have to figure things out on its own. Ultimately, all three countries should have the same protection. Sukles said that purchasing drones is necessary, but it is also important to set limits. Drones are part of the arsenal, like ammunition.
Estonia has announced a major drone procurement. The state is also establishing two defense industry parks. One of them is in Ermistu, Pärnu County. Four companies will operate there: Nitrotol, Frankenburg Technologies, Infinitum Strike, and Thor Industries from Great Britain. Their products will be used by the Estonian Defense Forces.
Sukles said that the defense industry is developing, and production will also go to export. Estonia cannot buy enough to support the factories' work. Non-profit organizations have taken the defense industrial park issue to court. Sukles believes the state has done sufficient research.
The Pärnu County defense industrial park covers 204 hectares. Ammunition warehouses and possibly two smaller manufacturers will be located there. A large factory producing 155 mm ammunition will not fit there. Plans for such a factory are being made in North Kiviõli kV The first production in Pärnu County is expected by the end of 2027.
