Prime Minister Kristen Michal criticized Isamaa's decision to cooperate with the Centre Party in Tallinn during the show "Esimene stuudio". He said that the Reform Party's poor result in the local elections was not a surprise. He believes that the party needs to pull itself together.
Michal emphasized that no one wants new confusion. He said that forming a new coalition would mean new tax agreements. The people don't need that.
He disagreed with the claim that Isamaa chairman Urmas Reinsalu overplayed in Tallinn. Michal said that Reinsalu overplayed Isamaa's voters.
Michal thinks that Isamaa speaks to its voters in appropriate media channels. He said that the Centre Party in Tallinn is still under pressure.
He also talked about Oleg Bessedin, who was detained by the Security Police. Bessedin was a media partner of the Centre Party. Michal said that Bessedin's partner made it to the council in the elections.
The host asked Michal if he crossed the line when he wrote Isamaa's name in Cyrillic letters. Michal said he was being ironic and he wants to continue being so.
He also disagreed with the claim that one should not cooperate with the party that won the elections. Michal said that Urmas Reinsalu's word is as honest as Russian elections.
The host reminded that the Reform Party and the Centre Party started cooperating in the summer. Michal said that there is no such cooperation.
At the end, Michal talked about a bet he lost. He said that strategically it is now easier to go to the 2027 elections.
