Maris Lauri ran as the Reform Party's top candidate for mayor of Tallinn. She said that Isamaa lied to voters.
Lauri said that Isamaa's decision to cooperate with the Center Party was not surprising. She recalled that during election debates, Isamaa did not clearly state whether they would cooperate with the Center Party. Isamaa said that it was very difficult, but their media campaign showed that they would not join forces with the Center Party.
Lauri said that when Isamaa started stalling, it was clear that they had to make a tough decision. She asked if Isamaa's lying to voters would be forgiven.
Lauri mentioned that three parties met with Isamaa. They hoped to convince Isamaa to form a four-party coalition with the Reform Party, the Social Democratic Party, and the Conservative People's Party.
The Center Party and Isamaa announced that they would begin coalition negotiations in Tallinn. For the first two years, the mayor will be Isamaa's candidate. For the next two years, the mayor will be the Center Party's candidate.
