The Tallinn Circuit Court ruling showed that Mailis Reps used ministry employees for personal tasks.
For example, advisors had to bring sand for a sandbox and feed Reps' ducks. Additionally, advisors attended training sessions and meetings with Reps' children.
The Circuit Court found that Reps also used ministry employees in other ways, such as for transportation and shopping. The court revealed that Reps organized a birthday event, the costs of which were covered by ministry funds.
The court ordered Reps to pay over €30,000 in damages. Additionally, some legal aid costs were awarded in her favor.
During the court proceedings, it also emerged that Reps used the ministry's coffee machine for personal purposes. The coffee machine was taken to her home for some time, even though it belonged to the ministry.
The Circuit Court found that Reps used her term of office and ministry resources in several inappropriate ways. The decision remained in force as no appeals were filed with the Supreme Court.
