The Traffic Insurance Fund does not know how many uninsured electric scooters are driving in Estonia. Bolt scooters are insured, although they are not required to have traffic insurance.
A new law came into effect in December last year. Since then, scooters that weigh more than 25 kilograms and travel faster than 14 km/h must be insured. According to the Traffic Insurance Fund, there are currently 1890 insured scooters in Estonia. However, the fund does not know how many scooters weighing less than 25 kilograms are on the roads.
