The leading candidates of Tallinn's political parties participated in Vikerraadio's election debate: Martin Helme (EKRE), Aleksei Jašin (Eesti 200), Mihhail Kõlvart (Keskerakond), Maris Lauri (Reform Party), Jevgeni Ossinovski (SDE), Lavly Perling (Parempoolsed), and Urmas Reinsalu (Isamaa). The hosts Arp Müller and Mirko Ojakivi asked their views on urban environment, traffic, and education.
EKRE candidate Martin Helme said they are ready to cooperate with the Center Party. He stated that other parties have not managed Tallinn's development well. Helme emphasized that corruption and poor management are problems in the city.
Eesti 200 candidate Aleksei Jašin said his party has brought change to Estonian politics. He mentioned that Tallinn needs more attention to education and urban space. Jašin hoped that Eesti 200 would enter Tallinn's city council.
Parempoolsed candidate Lavly Perling stressed that Tallinn should be the fastest-growing city in the Baltic region. She said the city needs more homes, jobs, and investments to be attractive to tourists and investors.
Reform Party candidate Maris Lauri emphasized the importance of honest and open governance. She said the city should find compromises for people's different needs.
SDE candidate Jevgeni Ossinovski said Tallinn should be the best capital in Europe. He highlighted the importance of developing education and city traffic.
Isamaa candidate Urmas Reinsalu said Tallinn should be competitive. He stressed that city management should be professional and pro-Estonian.
Center Party candidate Mihhail Kõlvart said Tallinn must help people with livelihood issues. He proposed free kindergarten and additional support for pensioners.
The debate also discussed which parties would be ready to form a coalition after the elections.
