E-voting started on Monday morning at 9 a.m. and ends on Saturday evening at 8 p.m. Advance voting at polling stations ends at the same time.
By Saturday at 1:46 p.m., 36.1% of eligible voters had cast their votes, totaling 362,822 people. Of these, 136,956 voted with paper ballots and 225,866 voted online.
To vote electronically, one must go to the website www.valimised.ee and download the voter application to their computer. Identity can be verified using an ID card, Smart-ID, or mobile ID.
If a voter believes that their privacy was not ensured during voting or they were pressured, they can vote again electronically or at a polling station with a paper ballot.
In local elections, the right to vote is granted to people aged at least 16 whose place of residence is in the respective municipality or city. In addition to Estonian citizens, EU citizens living in Estonia and long-term residents without citizenship can vote.
All 356 polling stations in Estonia are open on Saturday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. The location of polling stations can be viewed on the website.
Paper ballots can be used from Thursday to Sunday only in the voter's residential electoral district.
If a voter has health or other reasons that prevent them from going to the polling station, they can apply for home voting. For this, they must call the local government on Saturday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. or on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
On election day, Sunday, October 19th, voting takes place only at polling stations. Polling stations are open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
