Tallinn organized a public exhibition about Petrooleumi Street. It took place from April 29 to May 12. Residents had the opportunity to express their opinions.
Kristjan Järvan, deputy mayor, said: "We want Petrooleumi Street to be good for everyone – pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers."
The goal is to make the street safer and better. Plans include building new pedestrian and cycling paths, updating street lighting, and adding greenery.
Järvan added: "From Narva Highway, it will still be possible to turn towards Koidula and Weizenbergi streets."
In the future, the main traffic will rather go via Tormi Street because there is more space there.
Project manager Sten-Kristjan Saarik said: "Right now, we are determining the direction of the project. This is not yet the final solution."
The project will be introduced next Tuesday at Tallinn University. There, it will be explained how the project will proceed.
After the introduction, the project will be further refined, and the next stages will proceed.
