Hexanor is a real estate company that went bankrupt. The company took a loan from a bank but was unable to repay it. SEEB Bank was able to seize Hexanor's assets to cover the debt.
The bankruptcy trustee Martin Krupp was offered a bribe. According to suspicions, it was offered by Ain Seppik and his sons Siim and Sulev Seppik. They wanted to obtain a more favorable court decision.
The bribe amount was €100,000, of which €25,000 has already been paid. Indrek Raudsepp, a board member of Hexanor, is suspected of mediating the bribe.
Martin Krupp does not wish to comment on the bribery topic. He says that Hexanor's bankruptcy process has been very complex and long-lasting.
Hexanor has a lot of debt, nearly €33 million. Krupp acknowledges €6.5 million of it, while the rest is disputed. Krupp says that these debts are unfounded.
The bankruptcy process has already lasted three years. Krupp cannot say when it will end. He says that the process depends on court decisions.
On Tuesday, Ain Seppik and his sons Siim and Sulev were arrested on suspicion of bribery. Indrek Raudsepp was arrested on suspicion of mediating the bribe.
Ain Seppik said that the suspicions are unfounded. The prosecutor's office has closed some cases against the Seppiks without punishment.
