Michal wrote together with other European leaders. They asked for help to solve the Ceuta problem. Estonia supports proper migration but mass illegal migration must not be allowed.
The Prime Minister said that new internal borders in the Schengen area are bad for Estonia. "Schengen is very important," he wrote.
Isamaa chairman Urmas Reinsalu thinks differently. He said that closing borders may be necessary. It helps stop illegal migration.
Reinsalu said that countries must keep their promises. Estonia helps other countries in border protection. For example, Estonian police were sent to help Latvia.
Michal said that everyone must help in resolving the Ceuta crisis. The European Union has enough resources. New borders are not a good solution for Estonia.
The Prime Minister stressed that Estonia takes illegal migration seriously. Organizers of such migrations will be punished. Reinsalu believes that Estonia should talk with other countries. Countries that do not protect borders should face consequences.
