The e-Governance Academy is suspending Cuba's digitalization project.
Cuba is in crisis. Therefore, it was decided to suspend the project. Equipment will not be sent to Cuba.
The Foreign Affairs Committee of the Riigikogu visited the academy. The committee's chairman said that aid to Cuba should be reviewed. The aid supports the regime, not the citizens.
The head of the e-Governance Academy said that the project had already been suspended earlier. The decision was made together with the European Union and partners.
The academy has assisted in many countries. There was also talk about exporting Estonia's digital state.
The 'Cuba Digital' project began in 2024. Its goal was to help modernize Cuba's governance.
