Pruunsild and Humal filed a complaint in court against the state. They say that the state has not properly complied with laws related to them.
In court, it emerged that Telia Eesti AS provided the prosecutor's office with the complainants' personal data. Pruunsild and Humal claim that this violates EU law and the Constitution.
The complainants believe that the state has knowingly collected and retained their data unlawfully. This has caused them non-material damage.
Pruunsild and Humal find that the state was aware of this issue five years ago. However, the state has done nothing to resolve it.
In addition, the complainants claim that the state continues to use personal data in criminal proceedings. They demand compensation from the state.
The state representative says that the conditions necessary for compensation have not been met. The court decision may come in a month or a couple of days.
At the end of April, Pruunsild filed a complaint against Telia. He demands that unlawful data collection be stopped and that compensation be paid.
In 2023, the Security Police brought charges against Humal and Pruunsild. The Security Police believes that Humal should not interfere in decisions. The courts acquitted the men.
