62 members of the Riigikogu want Ülle Madis to be the presidential candidate.
These members are from the Reform Party, Estonia 200, and the Social Democratic Party.
Three members have not yet signed their names. They are Mart Võrklaev and Züleyxa Izmailova.
Mart Võrklaev said he is still thinking. He will meet with Ülle Madis on Tuesday.
Võrklaev said that Tiit Land is also a good candidate.
Some members have not yet decided. Some say they are waiting for meetings with Land and Madis.
Two members, Kalev Stoicescu and Meelis Kiili, may start supporting Tiit Land.
Stoicescu said he might support both.
In July, Stoicescu wrote that he was waiting for Ülle Madis's decision.
At least 21 votes are needed to be a presidential candidate.
Tiit Land could be the second candidate. He is supported by Isamaa and the Center Party.
They have 19 votes. They need 2 more votes.
68 votes are needed to elect the president.
