The agreement on natural resources between the USA and Ukraine has finally been signed. At the same time, signals from Washington suggest that the USA may abandon its role as a peace mediator. There have been no major changes on the front recently. The Russians are advancing slowly, while the Ukrainians are defending themselves. Moscow's ruler Vladimir Putin declared a three-day ceasefire for May 9. Kyiv and its allies are skeptical about this.
