Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur said that US soldiers will remain in Estonia. New soldiers will arrive in summer. A more detailed plan will be made in six months.
Pevkur spoke with the US Secretary of Defense. They want to meet again in the fall. The meeting depends on the US elections. They want to discuss threats and Estonia's plans.
The NATO commander said they are reviewing all eastern countries. This includes Lithuania, Romania, and Poland. Latvia has fewer ground forces but has helicopters.
Pevkur does not know what will happen in six months. The US will decide whether to send more soldiers. Estonia wants US soldiers to stay.
