Sigrid Nurm said that the money went to Ukraine. However, with 450,000 euros more help could have been provided. Lehtme initially worked with the NGO All for Victory. Later she worked with IC Construction.
Sigrid Nurm said that companies received the money. One contract caused a loss of 44,000 euros. Volunteers had to cover the costs.
Ukrainian police has frozen the funds of the NGO Slava Ukraini. Lehtme's work as the head of the NGO is at the center of the Estonian investigation.
The NGO Slava Ukraini is not demanding the money back. Sigrid Nurm said that all the aid went to Ukraine. However, with 450,000 euros more help could have been provided.
Sigrid Nurm said that the investigation began in May 2023. The investigation is lengthy because evidence is coming from Ukraine.
Johanna-Maria Lehtme will not speak in court. Sigrid Nurm said that this is her right.
