Urmas Reinsalu from Isamaa sent questions to Prime Minister Kaja Kallas. The questions concerned military food procurement. However, the Speaker of the Riigikogu Lauri Hussar returned the questions. He said the questions should be raised during the Riigikogu's information hour.
Reinsalu wrote on social media that he sent the questions on Monday. Hussar replied that this is not an issue that needs to be discussed publicly. Reinsalu asked whether the government had discussed food procurement. He also asked whether the Minister of Defence had talked to Kallas about these issues.
Hussar said if a member believes there is a problem, it should be discussed in the Riigikogu. If they just wanted information, written questions should be submitted. If they wanted a public discussion, the information hour would be suitable.
Reinsalu asked Kallas when she became aware of the food procurement problems. Kallas said at the same time as the public. This surprised Reinsalu. He said the police had already reported it in 2024.
The Prime Minister could not explain what actually happened. She could not say why the payments continued. Reinsalu was satisfied with this.
