On Saturday morning, many mushroom enthusiasts gathered in the yard of the Karula National Park Visitor Center. Mycologist Veiko Kastanje took them into the forest to show them various mushrooms.
In the forest, many interesting mushrooms were found. They saw golden chanterelles and large root-brown mushrooms. Various boletes, russulas, and milk caps were also found.
They spent a couple of hours in the forest. Many had mushrooms in their baskets that they had not recognized before. Karl Mart learned to identify the stone bolete and the birch bolete.
Although many had brought mushroom guides, they still asked the mycologist for help. Kristi collected earth balls and wanted to know if they were edible.
