Selisoo uus teelõik

New trail section in Selisoo

Kaks aastat tagasi tehti Selisoos töid, et . Tehti ka Suurlauka juures. Aga rohkem kui arvati. Eelmise aasta lõpus nähti, et jäi osaliselt vee alla.

RMK Ants Animägi ütles: "Me ei arvanud, et vesi tõuseb nii kõrgelt. Laudtee on uus ja ilus, aga nüüd on vesi peal. See oli üllatus."

RMK tahtis uue tee ehitada juba kevadel. Kuid tööde algus venis. Animägi selgitas: "Kõigepealt oli vaja . See võttis aega. Siis oli . Kõik see võttis palju aega."

60 meetri pikkune laudtee valmib alles septembris. Töömeestel on raske parklast . Tööde juht Andrei Tarnovski ütles: "Siin kulub tund aega, et jõuda töökohale. Mõnikord langeb koorm ka maha."

Tarnovski oli üllatunud, et soos käib palju inimesi. Inimesed tulid vaatama, kuidas tööd käivad.

Uue tee kõrval jääb osa alles. RMK mõtles vana teed ära viia, aga oli odavam.

Two years ago, work was done in Selisoo to prevent water from flowing out of the bog. A new boardwalk was also built near Suurlauk. But the water level rose more than expected. At the end of last year, it was seen that the new boardwalk was partially submerged under high water.

RMK nature conservation specialist Ants Animägi said: "We didn't expect the water to rise so high. The boardwalk is new and beautiful, but now there's water on it. It was a surprise."

RMK wanted to build the new trail already in spring. But the start of work was delayed. Animägi explained: "First, the project needed to be modified. That took time. Then permits were needed. All this took a lot of time."

The 60-meter-long boardwalk will only be finished in September. Workers have difficulty reaching the site from the parking lot. Work supervisor Andrei Tarnovski said: "It takes an hour to get to the worksite here. Sometimes the load falls off too."

Tarnovski was surprised that so many people walk through the bog. People came to see how the work was progressing.

Part of the old boardwalk remains next to the new trail. RMK considered removing the old trail, but building the new one was cheaper.
