The plan includes several plots intended for different purposes in the district. Up to 19 five-story buildings and one single-story building can be constructed on these plots. The area covers 12.4 hectares.
The new buildings are planned along Filtri tee. The plan preserves the main building of the Juhkentali military hospital, which is under heritage protection. The system of ponds and valuable greenery will also remain.
The placement of the buildings allows visibility of the former main building of the military hospital. The dimensions of the new buildings follow the measurements of the former barracks building.
The aim of the plan is to organize the boundaries of the properties of the Defense Forces and the Ministry of Defense. It also defines construction rights for national defense buildings. This ensures greater security and better connections with surrounding streets.
Deputy Mayor for Urban Planning Madle Lippus said that in the new security situation, it is important to support the operational capability of the Defense Forces. "The plan provides the Defense Forces with the opportunity to consolidate more national defense activities in one place," said Lippus.
